The theoretical part deals with the profession of general and practical nurses, mental burden, stress, burnout syndrome and the specifics of the work of nurses in internal and surgical departments. The empirical part combines quantitative with qualitative research. For the purposes of the work was used standardized Meister questionnaire. The research took place in the internal and surgery departments in the hospital in Ústí nad Orlicí and hospital in Litomyšl.
